Juneau resident Margaret Abbott, 93, died April 21, 2006, at her Juneau home, surrounded by her loving family and primary caregiver, Gary Hansen Jr.
She was born into the Killer Whale Clan, May 1, 1912, in Killisnoo, to Jimmie Albert and Mary George Albert. Her Tlingit names include: Kak'w taka', Kaaw aat, Shee tein, and Keet tla'a. A full obituary and service notice will follow.

Juneau resident Margaret Abbott, 93, died April 21, 2006, at her Juneau home surrounded by her loving family and primary care-giver Gary Hansen Jr.
She was born on May 1, 1912, into the Killer Whale Clan, in Killisnoo, to Jimmie Albert and Mary George Albert. Her Tlingit names include: Kak'w taka', Kaaw aat, Shee tein, and Keet tla'a.
According to her family, she was known for her deep Christian faith. She was raised in the Russian Orthodox Church and attended the Seventh Day Adventist Church. She was also long active in the Salvation Army; being recognized in the League of Mercy and Home League. She was a Charter Member of Angoon ANS Camp No. 7.
Her family stated, "Margaret's passion was her culture, and gathering and preparing her traditional food. She lived to teach young people how to prepare and smoke fish and no one was better at picking berries."
A niece said, "Aunty Margaret would come to the house and announce, 'I need fish,' and we knew we had best go catch fish, and we did."
Services celebrating her life will be held at 5 p.m. on Thursday, April 27 at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Juneau. It will be a combined service with the Salvation Army, followed by a Russian Orthodox service.
Burial arrangements will be announced.
