Three old-time pioneers passed away here within the last week. First to go was P. A. Anderson, 83, who had lived in the Territory nearly 60 years. He died on July 4 at his home in Juneau.
Anderson was born in Kongsberg, Norway in 1856. In the early 80s living in Seattle, he built a boat and sailed it from that city to Douglas. He has lived in the Douglas-Juneau vicinity ever since.
His wife and five children, survive. The children are Mrs. John Lowes of Ontario, Mrs. Chris Dahl of Petersburg, Mrs. Olga Kletzing and Able and Otto Anderson of Juneau. He was buried in the family plot in Douglas.
