Obituary - Kathleen Barnes

Former Juneau teacher and librarian Kathleen Barnes died Feb. 3, 2007, in Batesville, Ark., her former home.

After teaching at Marie Drake Middle School for 10 years, she retired and returned to Batesville.

Prior to her coming to Juneau, she did extensive traveling throughout the world. She spent a great deal of time documenting her travel adventures into four book journals indicating "Alaska was the best."

She was very active in community affairs and was a member of Northern Light United Church.

She will be remembered by a large group of friends.
