THE JUNEAU EMPIRE
Former Juneau resident Chuck Bratton died March 1, 2007, at home in Sammamish, Wash. He was 54.
He was born Sept. 5, 1952, in San Francisco, to Robert and Betty Bratton. He was raised in Santa Cruz, Calif., where he graduated from Soquel High School in 1971. At Soquel High, he was on the varsity swim team and on the football team. Following high school, he furthered his education at Cabrillo College in Aptos, Calif.
In the mid-1970s, he worked as a glazier for a glass company and later as a truck driver for a lumber company. On April 29, 1977, he married Sheri Osborne in Juneau. In 1978, they moved to Juneau, where he owned CB Insulation.
In 1988, he and his family moved to Washington, where they lived in Kirkland, Bellevue and Redmond before settling in Sammamish in 2003.
He was an active member of Eastridge Christian Assembly Church in Issaquah, Wash. He was also a member of Ducks Unlimited and Waterfowl Advisory Group. In his leisure time, he enjoyed duck hunting, church activities, refereeing little league and youth basketball and spending time with his family.
According to his family, he was a dedicated man of faith who especially enjoyed mission trips to all parts of the world. His family will remember him as a generous and loving husband and father who possessed a gregarious personality and a big heart. He will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his wife; children, Danny and Adrienne Bratton, and Jill Bratton, of Kirkland; mother, Betty Walker, of Santa Cruz; brother, Jim Bratton of Aberdeen, Wash.; sister, Laurie Ronsse, of Santa Cruz; and in-laws, Margaret Osborne, Deb Peterson, Liz Sosa and Lester Davis, of Alaska.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 7, at Eastridge Christian Assembly in Issaquah.
