Juneau Woman Dies Aboard Alaska While En Route From Seattle
Mrs. Guila
Chappell, assistant in the Alaska Territorial Museum and Library at Juneau and
widow of J. H. Chappell, insurance man, who was killed in a plane crash when
Pilot Lon Cope went in off Grand Island two years ago, died suddenly aboard the
steamer Alaska this week while en route from Seattle to her home in Juneau. She
apparently died of a heart attack, according to officers aboard the Alaska. The
body was taken from the vessel at Ketchikan.
Mrs. Chappell had been away
several weeks visiting friends and relatives in Mansfield and Toledo, Ohio.
She was dancing with John D. Bishop, Behrends employee in Juneau, in the
saloon when stricken.
