THE JUNEAU EMPIRE
Allen Joseph Donnelly died Oct. 28, 2001, in Anchorage.
He was born to the Kagwanton Wolf Tribe, Wolf House of Klukwan, on March 23, 1936, to Dora and Lee Donnelly. He attended elementary school in Klukwan and graduated from Mount Edgecumbe High School. He attended culinary art school and worked as a cook at pipeline camps in the Arctic. He also worked for Long Island Development Co. and Klukwan Forest Products.
Donnelly was a member of Klukwan Inc., Sealaska Corp., the Anchorage Chapter of the Tlingit and Haida Central Council, and the Alaska Native Brotherhood. He loved cooking, watching basketball, and doing word search puzzles.
He is survived by his companion of 28 years, Elsie McKinney, Anchorage; daughter Jonelle Johnson and her husband Wilford; stepson Matthew Susook, Anchorage; stepdaughter Danielle Kamealoha, Hawaii; Anthony Zoltac, Anchorage, whom he considered his son; brother Wilbur Donnelly and his wife Bernice, Juneau; brother James Donnelly, Sitka; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Rhoda Fox, Irene and Patrick Stowell, Anchorage, Clara and Larry Henderson; five grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
A service was held Thursday, Nov. 1, in Anchorage. Burial will be in the Klukwan Inc. cemetery.
