THE JUNEAU EMPIRE
Former Juneau resident Robert J. Geyer, 80, of Anacortes, Wash., died Jan. 29, 2001, in Anacortes.
He was born June 12, 1920, in Skagway, to Arthur and Ruth (Hawksworth) Geyer.
He was raised in Juneau and graduated from Juneau High School in 1940. After school he worked a number of jobs in Southeast Alaska. He made his way south to Seattle where he owned and operated a dry cleaning shop. In the late 1940s he moved to Reno, Nev., where he drove trucks and started his own trucking business. He retired in the early 1980s and moved to Anacortes.
He was preceded in death by his wife Clara in 1980. He is survived by his nephews John Storms and John Geyer of Washington and his niece Catherine McClelland of California.
Services were held Feb. 3 in Anacortes.
