THE JUNEAU EMPIRE
Patricia "PJ" Gingras died peacefully on Feb. 24, 2007, at Anchorage Regional Hospital after a brief struggle with cancer. She was 54.
Gingras was born March 3, 1952, in New Jersey. After graduation from high school, she came to Alaska as a Jesuit volunteer. She made Juneau her home and became a career state employee. She began working at the Department of Law Civil Division in the 1970s, and at the time of her death, she was working at the Division of Occupational Licensing. She also attended the University of Alaska Southeast and earned an Associate of Arts.
In her leisure time, she enjoyed gardening, reading, visiting with family and friends, crocheting, learning to play piano and researching the meaning of names.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Richard Gingras.
She is survived by her daughter, Alisaundre "Alex" Gingras; nephew, Andrew Gingras, of San Diego; and nephew, Brian Gingras and his family of Spokane, Wash.

A memorial service and reception will be at 7 p.m. on April 3 at the Cathedral of the Nativity in Juneau.
