Obituary - Dennis H. Gwyther

Dennis Harold Gwyther died Oct. 6, 2001, in Tucson, Ariz., of complications from diabetes.

Gwyther, 58, was born in Medford, Ore., in 1943. He moved to Juneau in 1965 with his wife, Julie, to work for the state legislative audit. In 1966 he began working as an accountant for the U.S. Forest Service. He retired from the Forest Service in 1999.

His family says that he was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed golf and volleyball, and was a very active member of the Resurrection Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his wife Juliann Gwyther; daughter Kimberley King; son Mark Gwyther; mother Margaret Jean Gwyther; sisters Linda Gwyther, Margaret Ann (Peg) Gwyther, Diane Gwyther; grandchildren Blaike Amanda King and Rafferty Tate King; son-in-law Eric King; and daughter-in-law Hiroko Kanai.

A memorial service will be held at Resurrection Lutheran Church at 4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the church's Building Fund.
