THE JUNEAU EMPIRE
Juneau resident Eileen V. Hansen died April 3, 2002, in Arizona.
She was born and raised in Surrey, England, where she attended schools throughout her youth. She lived in Juneau for 25 years and worked for the Alaska Marine Highway System until she retired.
Her family said she will be remembered for her love of family, German shepherds, waterskiing, boating, fishing, music, dance, old movies, walking her dogs, garage sales, softball, and being outdoors.
She is preceded in death by her parents, and all but one sibling, who resides in England with her grown children.
She is survived by her children and their spouses: (son) Robert and Julie, (son) John and Kathy, (son) Steve and Julie, (daughter) Darlene and Ole, (daughter) Jane, all of Juneau, and (daughter) Sandy and Don from Las Vegas, Nev. She also is survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held from 6-9 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 24, 2002, at the Auke Rec Main Cabin. Her family is having a potluck and barbecue, and all who knew Eileen or her family are invited to attend the celebration of her life. The family requests that participants bring a dish or food item, along with a single flower in her memory.
