THE JUNEAU EMPIRE
Lifelong Juneau resident John Henry Hawkins Sr. died Feb. 13, 2007, at home in Juneau. He was 62.
He was born Dec. 8, 1944. He worked as a police officer in Hoonah, a chef, a customer service representative and a welder on the trans-Alaska oil pipeline. He also was a U.S. Navy veteran.
He was preceded in death by his father, Virgil Hawkins; mother, Ethel Roachell; aunt, Bethel Roachell; and brother, DeDe Swords.
He is survived by his wife, Jackie Hawkins; sons, John Henry Hawkins Jr., Kevin Conrad, Sean Conrad and Mike Conrad, all of Juneau; daughters, Shannon Hawkins, of Anchorage, JoAnn Jonté, of California, Nikki Lynch, of Oklahoma, and Liz Lindoff, of Juneau; numerous grandchildren; brother, Darrell Mills, of Arkansas; and sister, Cindy Ricthie, of California.
Services were on Feb. 19 at the Juneau Church of the Nazarene. Pallbearers were John Henry Hawkins Jr., Kevin Conrad, Sean Conrad and Mike Conrad.
