Former longtime Juneau resident Lourdes "Londing" Abad Holganza, 88, died March 1, 2006, at Downey Hospital in Los Angeles.

She was born on April 29, 1917, in Barili, Cebu City, Philippines. She arrived in Juneau on June 1980 and worked at AWARE, where a room was named after her, until her retirement. She and her husband moved to California in 1993, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in August 1995 and lived there until her death.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ben E. Holganza; son, Johnny A. Holganza; and daughter, Ana "Nannette" A. Holganza.

She is survived by her children, Linda (Sulpicio) Cerna, Cecille (Cecilio) Garces, Benny (Exie) Holganza, Rosie (Virgil) Tagsip, Cora (Ranil) Jayson, Tony (Nelia) Holganza, Teddy A. Holganza, Jesse (Dolly) Holganza, Mike A. Holganza; 27 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; sister, Milagros; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

She was buried on March 8 at Forest Lawn Cemetery in California. A 40th-day Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on April 9 at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Juneau.

Her family would like to thank all of the people who gave donations, flowers and sympathy cards.
