THE JUNEAU EMPIRE
Former Juneau resident Carol Mae Igtanloc, 55, died of endometrial cancer Dec. 11, 1997, at the Alaska Native Medical Center in Anchorage.
Services were held Dec. 16 at Park Side Church in Anchorage.
She was born Carol Mae Vadman on May 30, 1942, in Amery, Wis., and moved to Alaska in 1959. She lived in Juneau from 1959 until 1968, and had lived in Anchorage since 1972. Her family writes that she was an upbeat person who brought laughter and joy to many, and as a people person, enjoyed her work as a hair stylist. She volunteered with no expectation of anything in return. She was a loving wife, mother and friend, and was known as "Grandma Iggy,'' to her seven grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Myron Sr.; sons and daughters-in-law Myron Jr. and Peggy and Mark and Taunja, all of Anchorage; daughter Melanie and fiance Mike of Minneapolis, Minn.; son Matthew of Minneapolis; mother, Luella Gibson, of Portland, Ore.; brother and sister-in-law, Ted and Pat Vadman and family of Juneau; sister and brother-in-law Nancy and Paul Kuntzmann and family of Portland, Ore.; and many other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her father, Carl "Ted'' Vadman, grandson Kyle Thomas Igtanloc and father-in-law Gervasio "Irving'' Igtanloc.
