THE JUNEAU EMPIRE
Loretta Mae Knightlinger, 69, died Sept. 26, 2001, in Juneau.
Knightlinger was born Sept. 19, 1932, to Louise and Carl Young of Mishawaka, Ind. She was the step-daughter of Erle "Pop" Meneely of Juneau. She lived 38 years in Juneau, and worked for the state and the Westmark Baranof.
Knightlinger graduated from Mishawaka High School in 1950. In Juneau, she was a past president of the Emblem Club, a member of the Women of the Moose, and a charter member of Eagles.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold "Butch" Knightlinger.
She is survived by her daughter Sandra Lichtenberger and her husband Rodney, Juneau; daughter Debbie Stephens and her husband Keith, Juneau; son Tom Knightlinger and his fianc?nn Pittman, Juneau; son Mike Knightlinger, Juneau; and seven grandchildren and two great-granddaughters.
A celebration of her life will be held on Oct. 13, 2001, from 2-6 p.m. at the Moose Lodge on Old Dairy Road in Juneau. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Loretta's name to Hospice Juneau.
