Former Juneau resident Jeffry Bryan Neal II, died Jan. 16, 2001, at his home in Anchorage.

Neal was born in Juneau on July 22, 1983. He lived in Juneau until 1990 when he moved to Anchorage, where he resided with his HOPE Cottage Community Services family until his death.

His family wrote, "Jeffry was an incredible example to us all. He continually fought hard and smiled through his life. Jeffry made people reach deep inside and find the best in themselves."

Neal was preceded in death by his uncle Jeffry B. Neal.

He is survived by his mother Doris Chelini; his step-father Todd Chelini; brother Zachary and sister Tori Briane, all of Murrieta, Calif.

He is also survived by his grandparents, Jim and Loretta Neal and Ron Hildre, all of Juneau; grandmother Lynn Hildre of Hot Springs, Ark.; great-grandmother Doris Briehn of Stamps, Ark., and many aunts and uncles and numerous cousins.

Services will be held today in Anchorage. There will a memorial service in Juneau at noon, Saturday at Chapel by the Lake, 10014 Auke Lake Way.

The family asks that no flowers be brought to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations to HOPE Community Resources, 540 W. International Rd., Anchorage, 99518.
