THE JUNEAU EMPIRE

Tristan Patrick Quigley died Aug. 20, 2001, after a year-long battle with leukemia.

He was born Oct. 29, 1998, in Juneau.

Throughout his battle with cancer, he loved to go to the parks where he could swing and play. He had a passion for fire trucks and construction equipment. Tristan was full of life and loved dancing the "hokey-pokey" with his sister. He was a great fan of the Seattle Mariners and his favorite song was "Take Me Out to the Ball Game."

He touched the hearts of doctors, nurses, child-life specialists and social workers of Seattle with his energy and lust for life, his family wrote. The support and compassion the Juneau community greatly enriched and touched Tristan and his family's lives, they wrote.

He is survived by his parents Shane Quigley and Susan Behbahani; sister Sarah; grandparents Pat Quigley, Eileen and Bill Cheeseman of Juneau and Esmail Behbahani of Iran; uncles Dylan Quigley and Chris Cheeseman of Juneau and Ryan Behbahani of Seattle.

A celebration of his life will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, 2001, at the Auke Rec main shelter. A memorial fund in Quigley's name has been established at the Children's Hospital to help support other children with cancer.
