THE JUNEAU EMPIRE
Former Juneau resident Emma Charlene Ross died Dec. 26, 2001, at the Round Rock Medical Center in Round Rock, Texas. She was 59.
Born Sept. 18, 1942, in Canon City, Colo., to Charlie Floyd Sale and Beatrice Lorraine (Comer) Sale, she married Joe Allen Ross in 1964 in Colorado Springs, Colo. She worked for many years as a registered nurse in Colorado and Alaska, including in Juneau from 1992 to 1998, before moving to Cherokee Village, Ark. At the time of her death, she was employed with White River Medical Center in Batesville, Ark. She was a member of the Assembly of God Faith.
She is survived by her husband; her son, Charles of Independence, Mo.; her three daughters, Anetta Rodriguez of Pharr, Texas, Shauna Drashcovich of Brunswick, Maine, and Doris Rovira of Virginia Beach, Va.; her two sisters, Fredonyah Lee Sale of Flora, Miss., and Marva Jean Hatch of Juneau; and 11 grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held Dec. 31, 2001, at 10 a.m. at Tri-County's Cherokee Chapel in Arkansas. Burial will follow in the Oaklawn Cemetery in Highland.
