THE JUNEAU EMPIRE
Former Juneau resident Teddy A. Vallejo died Dec. 17, 1997, in Glendale, Ore. He was born March 31, 1909, in Vigan IIocos Sur, Philppines.
A World War II veteran in the U.S. Navy , he settled in Seattle to raise his family. He worked at the University of Washington Health Sciences building as a custodian, at the Excursion Inlet cannery in Southeast Alaska as a foreman, and later owned and operated Teddy's Barber Shop in the Green Lake area of Seattle for many years before retiring and moving to Glendale, Ore.
He had many interests, including gardening, cooking, and family gatherings.
He was preceded in death by his son Theodore William Vallejo. He is survived by his children Lisa Ibias, John and Tina Vallejo, and Patrick Vallejo, all of Juneau, Rudy and Melinda Vallejo of California, Allan and Cindy Vallejo of Anchorage, Andrew and Delberta Vallejo of Seattle, Roger and Kathy Vallejo of Wisconsin, his Godson Kenneth Page, and his caregiver Lou Helen Page of Glendale, his brothers Rudy Vallejo of Seattle, and Loreto Vallejo of the Philippines. He has 20 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Dec. 22, in Seattle. Following, his ashes will be spread in Oregon, Washington, Alaska, California and Wisconsin.
